Marika is one of the most inspiring young artists today. She hails from a small town in northern Quebec, Canada. Marika has been able to count Le Cirque du Soleil, Nivea, Dior, Sephora & Make Up For Ever among her clients and her work has been seen on television as well as in international magazines and on Fashion Week runways. She will be doing a demo of her beautiful creations live on stage.

Shelby Michael Patton will lead a silicone prosthetic make-up application, accompanied by emerging artists Lily Beren, Nicole Goulet, Sydnee Pixler, and Angie Shell. Using identical prosthetics on five separate models, each artist will create their own unique interpretation of the theme ‘Punk is Undead.’ Join us to see the process step-by-step as well as a discussion on the importance of artistic collaboration and mentorship in the make-up industry.

Fashion Forward Makeup-Runway Trends and Skin Prep

With over 18 years of experience as a Professional Makeup Artist, Paloma Romo has expanded her work between Los Angeles and New York City. She has participated in numerous seasons of Milan and New York Fashion Week, working under the direction of some of the most recognized top makeup artists in the fashion industry such as Erin Parsons, Yadim Carranza, Kabuki, Pat McGrath among others.

Her resume includes multiple first assistant positions for campaigns and runway shows; working for brands and designers like Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Prada, Miu Miu, Moschino, Schiaparelli, Marni, Donna Karan NY, Gucci, Balmain, Carolina Herrera, Dolce & Gabanna, Jason Wu, GAP and more. Paloma has promoted brands such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Bobbi Brown, Armani Beauty, Yves Saint Laurent, Temptu, Mehron NY, Maybelline NY, and Pat McGrath Labs.

A competition like none other.  Come witness the display of talent on the Main Stage!

After a blind judging for each show, the Make-Up Artist magazine staff selects eight finalists in the beauty/fantasy category and eight in the character/prosthetic category, plus a runner-up for each. Finalists and their models receive free passes for both days of IMATS. The staff chooses a theme for each category every year.
