Colin Penman in the House
IMATS is happy to be returning to Toronto this year! We are looking forward to so many aspects of this make-up artistry celebration, one of which is seeing our friend and very talented artist Colin Penman in action!
In his 29 years of experience, Colin has worked with so many top talents and on some of our favorite TV shows and films. Currently, he is, yet again, impressing us as make-up department head on Star Trek: Discovery and the hit series American Gods.
Remember Stephen King’s miniseries 11-22-63? Colin was the man behind that Kennedy-era re-creation—which, in fact, we wrote an extended behind-the-make-up article back when he was in the throes of it. You can check that out here.
How about Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain? Yes, another one of Colin’s fine artistic moments. There have been so many others, including Total Recall, The Kennedys, Defiance, Copper and Hairspray.
The Canadian make-up artist is an Emmy winner (The Kennedys) as well as a Gemini nominee (The Kennedys). Colin is a member of IATSE 873 in Toronto and has also worked in the United States, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Malta, Brazil and Jordan.
Kind of idol worthy, right? We think so!
So, come idolize him with us at IMATS Toronto! Colin is generous in sharing his knowledge with others and we thank him for this. He will be doing a demo at IMATS Toronto, which will be insightful, impressive and fun! You truly shouldn’t miss it!
