Karen Westerfield

Karen Westerfield has three Emmy awards for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in 1992, 1993, 1995 for her work on Armin Shimerman as Quark, the Ferengi bar owner, as well as nine additional nominations.  Now retired from the industry, Westerfield offers this advice to newcomers: “You can’t give up.  If you really want it and that’s your dream, then you keep going and try to learn everything that’s out there…You have to stay up with new products, new trends, you have to watch a lot of films.  That’s how you continue your education.  There’s a lot you need to know to be good at your craft.”
