Adrien Morot was a monster and make-up fan from an early age. His teachers and parents suggested that he find more stable and realistic work as an adult, but at age 20, he left Montreal to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles. Since then, he has worked on more than 100 features and has traveled internationally, shooting movies in some astounding places. Battle of the Brushes
The competition is open to students of a recognized make-up school and to those who have graduated 12 months prior to the competition date. Eight competitors will be selected for each competition. Cash and/or prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners for each competition. To qualify, you must fill out and send us the entry form, along with 8-10 photos of different looks you have done. Photos don't have to represent the make-up you plan to enter in the competition. All entries, photos and artwork become the non-returnable property of Key Publishing Group.
The character/prosthetic competition takes place on Saturday. Competitors will be given prosthetics on the day of competition, which they must incorporate into their designs. The time limit for the character competition is three hours. No outside prosthetics are allowed, only the ones supplied by IMATS. Our 2015 character/prosthetic theme is Age Make-up Challenge.
The beauty/fantasy competition takes place on Sunday, and the time limit is two hours. Our 2015 beauty/fantasy theme is Historical Beauty Trends.

Keynote speaker and M.A.C.'s Director of Makeup Artistry, Gregory Arlt, began working at Fred Segal in 1989. By 1993, he had built a healthy clientele as a make-up artist. When four M.A.C. artists told him he should work with M.A.C., he interviewed and was hired instantly. He now teaches master classes worldwide and works the shows in Paris, Milan, New York and L.A. Clients include Katy Perry, Dita Von Teese, Gwen Stefani, Mary J. Blige and Victoria Beckham.
Jordan Samuel served as make-up department head for the 2013 remake of Carrie. His additional credits include Pacific Rim, Total Recall, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Incredible Hulk, Chicago and Hairspray. He won a Primetime Emmy for his work on the 2011 miniseries The Kennedys and was nominated for a BAFTA twice, for Chicago and Hairspray.

Kevin James Bennett is known across the industry as one of the most product-driven, business-focused artists of a generation. Not only is he an Emmy Award winner and incredibly successful make-up artist, he is a leader and educator in all aspects of the industry, an inspirational voice and, without a doubt, one of the most intensive product experts.
Randy Daudlin is a professional make-up artist with more than 30 years’ experience. He has also been an instructor, writer, director and most recently, international author. Roque Cozzette is a make-up artist, photographer, innovator and educator who thinks creatively and creates strategically. His talent comes from the orchestrated sensibilities of hands, head and heart. He’s a seasoned beauty-industry pro with a multifaceted career spanning three decades, experienced in photography, television, print, fashion, celebrity image and cosmetic product development. He has co-created with celebrities including Christina Milian and Melody Gardot, and his brand, Cozzette, offers cruelty-free cosmetics, make-up brushes and beauty photography.
Sean Sansom is a Toronto-based special make-up effects artist who has worked in film and television for the past 22 years. His credits cover a wide range of genres, from horror and sci-fi to period dramas. In 2009 he shared an Emmy Award for his work on Grey Gardens. He has served as a key on-set artist for such California-based studios as KNB EFX Group; Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc.; AFX Studios, Stan Winston Studio and Legacy Effects.
Celebrity make-up artist Sébastien Tardif’s work has taken him to New York, London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Tokyo and beyond. For more than 17 years, he has beautified celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Nelly Furtado, Jane Fonda and Olivia Palermo. He has led make-up direction for more than 100 fashion-week shows in New York and internationally, and his signature illuminated make-up has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
Siân Richards is a second-generation U.K. make-up artist. After art school, she studied make-up to fulfill her childhood ambition to be a make-up artist. Twenty-four years later, she has traveled the globe, doing make-up ranging from editorial to movies to special make-up effects. She won the 2013 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Makeup for her work on Halle Berry in Cloud Atlas

Tanya Deemer is a professional media make-up artist and freelance pro airbrush artist. Her work can be seen from the runways of New York Fashion Week to The Sportsman Channel to the beautiful faces of her bridal clientele. Through her more than 15 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry, Deemer has developed a passion for sharing her knowledge with aspiring make-up artists through seminars given at shows and in her studios.
Thomas E. Surprenant
Thomas E. Surprenant has been a make-up artist for more than 30 years and has developed products and techniques to further the craft. He has been nominated for three Emmys and has won twice. Surprenant has also been part of two Academy Award-winning make-up crews and has received a Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Award. He has contributed to Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials
and the Syfy show Defiance,
and has designed brushes for the Bdellium Tools SFX line.
