Crimson Peak Horror

Get the ghastly details of Guillermo del Toro’s soon-to-be released horror film Crimson Peak at IMATS Toronto.  Make-up department head Jordan Samuel will discuss all the gory make-up details of the highly anticipated film live onstage along with Patricia Keighran.

Crimson Peak is a full-scale ghost story honoring the haunted house genre; it was filmed in Toronto.  Crimson Peak stars Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam opens in theaters Oct. 16, 2015.

Creature Demo from the Hit Show ‘The Strain’

Watch as the make-up masters of the hit show The Strain re-create its gruesome make-up at IMATS Toronto. Creature effects supervisor Sean Sansom and special make-up effects artist Neil Morrill will demonstrate the thriller’s effects on stage.

The Strain, which airs on the FX Network, is based on a bestselling trilogy co-written by producers Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The show follows a team from the Centers for Disease Control as it investigates a global vampire pandemic; the show films in Toronto.

Transforming Color

Siân Richards shows how changing an actor’s skin tone on camera is tricky and multifaceted. Oscar-Worthy Make-up Effects Demo

Oscar nominee and make-up effects studio owner Adrien Morot will keynote IMATS Toronto. Morot’s career has included work on more than 100 features, including the soon-to-be-released film The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as X-Men: Days of Future Past, Noah and Barney’s Version, the last of which earned him an Oscar nomination.  Morot is a master at special make-up effects and will share his knowledge with attendees in an onstage make-up effects demonstration.
