Join other professional make-up artists for a preview of IMATS Los Angeles at this exclusive event for Make-Up Artist magazine Pro-Card holders only. From 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, you can shop leisurely (exhibitors are reserving products and offering deals) and network. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see a list of exhibitors offering Pro-Card discounts.
Ticket pre-registration is now required for all days of the show. You will find ticket allotments for each Pro-Card type when you register for your tickets.
Pro-Card holders should note that a Make-Up Artist magazine Pro Card and photo ID are required for entrance with a Pro-Card member ticket. A Pro-Card ticket is tied to your Make-Up Artist Pro Card and cannot be transferred to members of the general public. A card holder will be provided to you; please have it visible at all times while at the show.
All guest ticket holders must check in with the Make-Up Artist Pro-Card holder at the Registration desk for admittance.
Throughout the weekend, other Make-Up Artist Pro-Card perks include preferred classroom seating and pro-only discounts from participating exhibitors (see below). To apply for the Make-Up Artist Pro Card and see a list of perks, follow the link to the form and list of required materials.
As a professional, natural talent, stamina and a strong knowledge of your craft are essential. These skills can certainly move you farther up the ladder of success. All too often, however, you cannot get the most important tools in any school or from any counter. More useful than the case you carry sometimes is the invisible toolbox filled with people skills, the inventive mind and the experience you gain from making and learning from mistakes. Oscar winner Steve LaPorte will help you hone these skills.
Make-up effects veteran Craig Reardon is a three-time Primetime Emmy winner. His credits include An American Werewolf in London, Altered States, Poltergeist, Dreamscape, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Weird Science and The Goonies. Join us as he discusses his career with Make-Up Artist Publisher Michael Key.
